3 BIGGEST Travel Video MISTAKES

These are the 3 biggest mistakes that I see in individuals's travel videos, and how you can prevent them to improve your filmmaking as quickly as possible.

Whether you're making travel videos for youtube, instagram, or just your own memories, I truthfully do not desire you to do these things due to the fact that they can bring videos down to the point where people will get bored.

So let's understand them, learn from them, and do remarkable stuff with our video cameras.

Mentioning cameras, download my equipment list (totally free) here:

If you download it, you'll also get a lot of truly important ideas and techniques to support you on your journey of ending up being a travel filmmaker.

Let me understand your ideas and if you have any concerns in the remarks listed below!

nice video! but you need to give more visual examples, cause most of the time I’ve no idea what exactly you are trying to say… you need to back it up with video examples, like you did here once. thanks! and looking forward to more tutorials!

It’s a bit like an Instagram filter or like a Lightroom preset. Just that it’s for video. The one in this video adds a lot of blue and orange color.

I also picked up on this right away, the fact that he mentions it makes this hilarious.

@Erik Lokind – Well, I do think that it’s a strong grade for a documentary film about travel but a restrained one for a travel video. You just have to think about the use. Documentaries are when you want yourself to be pulled inside a world and have time to engage with the thing for an hour.
Travel videos are more to be amazed by quickly. Especially if you watch it on a bad day on public transport on your way to work where you don’t want to go really. IMO it’s the reason why Instagram has a lot of very contrasty and highly saturated colors. In that (let’s call it) zombie mode you need all the dials turned up in order to feel the same amount of stimulation.

Could you do a video about “how to think” before filming? I mean how one should take clips keeping in mind how the edit is gonna be. I find myself to take different clips, from different angles, different zooms and details etc. but maybe the song afterwards Still doesn’t match with the amount of clips that I have. Hope that what I say makes sense!

Honestly I think this video is so great! Everyone complaining about the color or idk what, I love it! And the background looks soo good; so much better than if he was just sitting in a room

Great tips bro ✌ Nice to find your channel. Do you think music should serve the video or the video should serve the music?

I think in general the music should serve the video. Unless you’re making a music video.
